Betting tips and match preview | FA Cup

Wolves welcome Chelsea to Molineux in the 5th round of the FA Cup, with the hosts enjoying an excellent cup run.

Paul Lambert’s side come into this match in poor form, with a 1-0 defeat against Wigan in the Championship.

Jake Buxton (88) scored what proved to be the only goal of the game, with the defeat a blow to Wolves.

They had looked well place to secure a point at home, they are now on a run of three successive Championship defeats.

Recent results mean they are just six points above the relegation zone, they will need to turn that form around quickly.

Wolves Enjoying Cup Run

It’s a completely different story in the FA Cup though, with Lamberts side enjoying an excellent run.

They have beaten both Liverpool and Stoke away from home, both against strong sides and by a 2-0 margin.

Since the Liverpool win they have only managed to beat Barnsley 3-1 though, a win against Chelsea would be another step up.

Wolves Underdogs

Despite those two excellent results they come into this match as underdogs, despite home advantage Chelsea’s Premier League dominance has informed the odds.

The hosts have conceded one goal in their last two FA Cup matches, in Costa and Pedro they face stiffer opposition.

Wolves will be looking to continue their overall record against Chelsea,  they have won 34, drawn 18 and lost 27 of 79 meetings.

Chelsea Look For Double

The Blues come into this match on the back of a 1-1 draw away against Burnley, with the Blues continuing their incredible season.

Pedro (7) continued his excellent season, scoring early on in what could have been a Blue procession at Turf Moor.

Robbie Brady ensured that wasn’t the case, scoring a stunning free kick (24) on his full debut for the Clarets.

Conte will be disappointed at dropping three points, particularly as Tottenham slipped up at Liverpool.

They do remain well on course to secure a second title in three years, with the gap at the top now eight points.

Chelsea’s To Lose

The Blues have had an excellent season so far, they have no European commitments so domestic glory will be the target for Conte.

They are top of the Premier League by a distance, but that won’t be enough for Conte who has an excellent chance of a league and cup double.

Chelsea are the favourites to secure a title for Conte in his first season, Wolves stand in their way for a second trophy.

Chelsea Favourites

The Blues come into this match as the favourites, with their excellent form overall informing those odds.

This will be a tough fixture for Conte’s side, with Wolves already securing two Premier League scalps.

Chelsea will be looking to continue their recent record against Wolves, they have won the last three successive matches.
