Wolves v Sheffield Wednesday | Saturday 7 May | 12.30 kick off
Sheffield Wednesday make the trip to the Mollineux on Saturday afternoon to face Wolves. Wednesday will be looking to get into form before the play-offs start, and they are priced at 19/10 to get the win in this fixture. Wolves are slightly more favoured in the betting, priced at 7/5 to steal the three points. The draw is available at 12/5. In the reverse fixture earlier this season, it was Sheffield Wednesday who came out on top with a convincing 4-1 victory.
Wolves have experienced a dip in form in recent weeks, failing to win in any of their last five fixtures. This inconsistent form is shown in their league standing, disappointingly finding themselves in the bottom half. Last weekend they failed to overcome Nottingham Forest. They went a goal in front through mason in the 58th minute, however they could only hold on to the lead for 10 minutes before Forest equalised. Whilst they have nothing to play for, they will be looking to end the season on a high in this fixture.
Sheffield Wednesday have managed to hold on to sixth place. They will be relieved to have to place confirmed and will be looking to go into the play-offs with a winning mentality. They got a good results at the weekend to seal their place with a win over Cardiff. Hooper opened the scoring just after the hour mark for Wednesday. They were fortunate to double their lead after Cardiff put the ball into their own net. Hooper got his brace late on to seal the three points and the 3-0 victory. They will be looking to replicate this kind of performance this weekend and through to the play-offs.
Wednesday have a bit more to play for in that they will be looking to continue their winning momentum. They have an outsider chance of promotion and will need to be on top form to overcome the other sides.
