The Giants were slow out of the gates, but they’ve picked things up of late.

The San Francisco Giants were not the hottest team to start the Major League Baseball season. However, after five straight victories the Giants entered Monday with a .550 winning percentage, currently good enough for first place in the NL West. Most recently, San Francisco completed a road sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks, a team who are fading in the east at the moment after a fair start.
For betting odds on the Giants you cannot do better than 3/2 for them to win their division, odds that look really short at this point in the season and unlikely to shorten in the near future. The Los Angeles Dodgers are right there near the top of the division at the moment and the Colorado Rockies have a little bit of something going on as well. In fact the Rockies have shortened from early season odds of 66 to 1 to win the division down to 10/1 with William Hill now.
For baseball futures, the best angle on the Giants right now is probably to win the NLCS at 8/1 with Ladbrokes. That’s not so much a bet on the current standings, but rather it’s a bet on experience. There are a lot of players on the Giants right now that have won the World Series and the confidence that comes with that might give them an edge should they make it to mid-October.
However, I think the best angle on San Fran right now is to focus on individual games. Monday is an off day, but the Giants will be in San Diego for a series starting Tuesday. The Padres are just 8-11 when hosting this season while ‘cisco are decent on the road at 11-8 now. BetVictor are quick to the punch when offering odds on the game and 5/9 is available.
