QPR v Fulham, February 13th, 12.30pm
QPR host Fulham in this weekend’s early kick off on Saturday afternoon. The home side go in as favourites, slightly better than even money priced at 11/10. The travelling side Fulham can be backed at 5/2. The draw is available at 12/5. The last time these sides met was back in September where Fulham came out on top as 4-0 winners. There are currently 10 points between the two sides in the league in the favour of QPR.
QPR were impressive last weekend and got three points to show for it. They beat play-off contenders Ipswich in a 1-0 victory. Matt Phillips bagged the only goal in the 88th minute to seal the points. However this does not to achieve much in the way of their league position. After an underwhelming start to 2016 they find themselves 11 points adrift from the play-off places, which would have been their main target for this season. They have managed just two wins since the turn of the year, the other against the struggling Rotherham, and have also been knocked out of the FA Cup. Without much to play for the rest of the season QPR will have a bit more freedom than other teams.
Fulham, who sit in 19th, also had a good game last time out – holding Derby to a draw. A stroke of fortune gave Fulham the lead in the 17th minute with an own goal from Olsson until Derby levelled just before half time. Fulham are still not fully clear from the relegation battle, just four points above the drop and are yet to win in 2016. They will need to get some points on the board in the next few fixtures to take off the pressure.
I don’t think either side is in great form, but I think the home advantage will help QPR and they do have a bit more quality than their opponents.
QPR to win to nil – 5/2
