Betting tips and match preview | FA Cup

Nottingham Forest host Premier League Watford in the fourth round of the FA Cup, with the City Ground and it’s fans looking to claim a high profile scalp, with Watford looking to turn around their poor form with a cup win to boost morale.

The hosts Nottingham Forest have had an average season and find themselves seven points off the place off places, with 17 games left to play. There are plenty of points available for them to mathematically make the play off places but they will need to put a decent run together and a cup run whilst financially beneficial may not be the best thing for their league aspirations.

Watford Looking For PL Advancement

Watford come into this match looking to build on their excellent win over Newcastle in the league last weekend but it hasn’t been the easiest festive period for new manager Quique Sanchez Flores and reports are that he will re jig his line up accordingly to accommodate this fixture. He has seemingly recognised that the league is his priority and with star performers Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney linked with big money moves, only a high league finish will be enough to convince them to stay and if they can go on another excellent run there is no reason why the top seven can’t be a realistic target.

Although league form doesn’t count for much in the FA Cup it’s worth noting, Nottingham Forest come into the match with three wins and three draws in their last six, this is a great run in the Championship and they could go on to shock Watford. Their last result was a 0-0 draw with QPR.

For the visitors Watford their record in the last six is won two and lost four and they will be looking to rectify this at the earliest opportunity but they may have to sacrifice a cup run to finish high up in the Premier League. Their last result was a 2-1 win against Newcastle.

Both teams are 10/11 on to score. The first goalscorer odds for Nottingham Forest are Nelson Oliveira at 6/1 and Chris O’Grady at 13/2. For Watford Odion Ighalo is at 5/1 and Troy Deeney is at 11/2

These two sides faced off last year in the Championship and Watford won 3-1 and the odds of the same result are 22/1.
