Betting tips and match preview | FA Cup

Liverpool host West Ham at Anfield for the second time this month, with Jurgen Klopp looking to build on an excellent week for the Merseysiders, West Ham are looking to recover from their mini slump and record a third straight win over Liverpool this season.

The hosts Liverpool have had an excellent week, they beat Norwich in the last minute of extra time in a nine goal thriller at Carrow Road. They followed that win up with progression to the Capital One Cup final after beating Stoke on penalties, neither performance will thrill Liverpool fans but the bare facts are that they come into the match with two wins despite not playing all that well. Generally considered to be the hallmark of champions. They do face their bogey side this season in Slaven Bilic’s West Ham and despite the absence of a win in their last two matches, they will be keen to make it third time lucky.

Payet Leads Hammers Revolution

West Ham come into this match full of confidence, having beaten Liverpool twice this season already both under Brendan Rodgers and german mastermind Jurgen Klopp earlier this month 2-0. Their excellent run in the league has been largely due to the return of Dimitri Payet who has been incredible this season, he has not only been exceptional himself but has allowed his other colleagues to shine, with a notable return to goalscoring form for Enner Valencia in recent weeks. There is no doubt if Liverpool are to progress they will need to stop Payet and limit his impact in the match.

Although league form doesn’t count for much in the FA Cup it’s worth noting, Liverpool come into this fixture with a record of two losses, two draws and two wins. This is a mixed run but overall it’s been an excellent week for everyone associated with Liverpool given that they have qualified for a cup final for the first time since 2012 but face a stern test in the form of West Ham. Their last result was a 1-0 loss to Stoke in normal time but they went on to win on penalties.

For the visitors West Ham their record in the last six is won four, drawn one and lost one. Their results have been excellent although they have had a little wobble in their last two fixtures but they will remain confident of beating Liverpool, having comprehensively beaten them at Anfield 3-0 already this season. Their last result was a 2-2 draw against Manchester City.

Both teams are 4/5 on to score. The first goalscorer odds for Liverpool are Roberto Firmino and Christian Benteke at 4/1 with Jerome Sinclair at 6/1. For West Ham Enner Valencia is at 7/1 with Nikica Jelavic at 15/2.

West Ham are looking to secure a third win over Liverpool this season, their last result against Liverpool was a 2-0 win earlier this month and the odds of the same result are 18/1.
