Hull v Rotherham | Saturday 7 May | 12.30 kick off
Great escapists Rotherham come up against Hull this weekend away from home. Hull, who are looking to gain some momentum going into the play-offs, are odds on favourites to take the three points on Saturday afternoon, priced at 4/6 to do so. Rotherham are much less favoured in the betting, priced at 17/4 to cause an upset. The draw is available at 11/4. In the reverse fixture earlier this season, Rotherham did cause an upset – winning 2-0 at home.
Hull looked to be getting back into form in recent weeks, however they were left a little red faced last weekend when they failed to take anything from bottom of the league Bolton. At some points this season, Hull looked a decent bet to win the title outright. They dominated possession but failed to put the ball in the back of the net. This will be a massive confidence blow going into the play-offs. This weekend they come up against another team nearer the bottom of the table that have already beat them this season. If they lose, they will not feel good going into their opening fixture of the play-offs.
Rotherham have been a completely different team over the past few months, scraping their way out of the relegation zone. They seen their impressive unbeaten streak come to an end at the weekend. After going eleven games without a loss, they missed out on all the points against Blackburn. They went behind early on and failed to respond. The game finished 1-0. Now that they are safe, Rotherham are only really playing to give their fans something to cheer about and to seal a place in the side next season. They will be happy to survive this season and look to take points away from one of the top sides this weekend.
Hull need to win more, but they have been prone to dropping points recently. Steve Bruce’s men really need a win to boost the confidence before the play-offs.
Hernandez to score last – 3/1
