Huddersfield v Ipswich | Saturday 27th February | 3.00pm kick off
Ipswich make the trip into Huddersfield this weekend for their weekend game. They are outsiders in this fixture and can be backed at 5/2. The home side, Huddersfield, are priced at 11/10. The draw is available at 12/5. In the reverse fixture earlier this season, the points were split in a stalemate game.
Huddersfield almost had some momentum going, they beat Wolves and Nottingham Forest back to back in recent weeks but failed to see of MK Dons on Tuesday night. Whilst they will feel they earned a point, looking at the fixture objectively it is a game they should be winning. Nevertheless they did show decent character to level the scoring late on through Wells in the 86th minute, especially considering Billing was show a straight red card shortly after half time – which leaves him suspended for this weekend’s fixture. They are sitting relatively comfortably in mid table so a top half finish will be the target for the remainder of the season. They will be looking to take their unbeaten form into this fixture.
Ipswich seem to have dropped off in the past month and their promotion hopes are beginning to dissolve. They have only picked up three points in their last five games which reflecting in their league standings. They have dropped down to 10th in the league, 6 points away from the play off places. Whilst they have not left themselves a mountain to climb, they will need to get out of their slump as soon as possible to keep any form of promotion hopes alive. They came up against top of the table Hull midweek and were seen off on their home soil in a 1-0 loss. They did not concede the possession to the high flyers but they will have been disappointed not manage a single shot on target in the 90 minutes in front of their home fans.
This match is a hard one to call, Ipswich have had a better season but Huddersfield are in better form. It could really go either way, however for value I’m siding with Ipswich.
Ipswich to win by exactly 1 goal – 7/2
