Huddersfield v Cardiff, January 30, 3.00pm
The home side are favourites in this fixture, priced at 6/5. The travelling side, Cardiff, can be backed at 23/10 and the draw is available at 9/4. The last time these sides met, Cardiff came out on top 2-0. In their last five meetings Cardiff have won three and Huddersfield have not managed to get a win against their opponents.
Huddersfield have been in fairly decent form lately, they have picked up eight points in their last five games. However last time out they lost 2-1 away to Brighton. They are relatively comfortable in the table, eight points clear from the the drop zone, but they will have to bounce back to winning ways soon if they are to keep this cushion. They have some tough games coming up in the form of Preston, Nottingham Forest and Wolves.
Cardiff’s form has mirrored their opponents, picking up eight points in their last five games as well. Their league position is considerably healthier than their counterparts, sitting in 9th and five points away from a play-off place. Some of the teams around them are in fine form so they will have to have a fairly strong winning streak if they are going to compete for the play-offs come May.
I think Cardiff are a more than fair price for the win here, both teams are in similar form but Cardiff have been much more consistent this season. However due to recent form, and Huddersfield having the home advantage the draw is probably the best bet.
Both teams score and draw – 10/3
