Fulham v Hull, January 23, 3.00pm
Fulham open the betting as the outsiders in this fixture and can be backed at 14/5. High-flyers Hull are even money to take all three points. The is available at 12/5. In the reverse fixture, Hull came out on top winning 2-1.
Fulham are without a win so far this month, picking up just a single point so far. They were also forced out of the FA Cup by Sheffield Wednesday. Their last win came in the last weekend of December with a convincing 4-1 victory of Rotherham, but thus far this year have not been able to replicate this kind of form. Sitting 19th in the table will have been considerably below their target and could drop even further this weekend as they come up against one of the main title contenders. Given that their opponents sit second in the league, Fulham are likely to allow Hull to have the majority of possession and play more like it is an away fixture. McCormack has bagged himself two goals in two games and is one to look out for in the goalscorer market.
Hull have been in more than impressive form lately, winning all of their last five league fixtures and pushed through to the next round of the FA Cup. They are not letting up any ground of table-toppers Middlesborough who sit just two points ahead of them in the league. They will be looking to continue their winning form into this weekend’s fixture. Last weekend they won more than convincingly against the struggling Charlton side, putting six goals past them. Hernandez got himself a first half hat-trick and is definitely one to look out for in the goalscorer markets.
With little value in backing Hull for the straight win, I’m turning to the goalscorer market. Hernandez did not let me down last weekend so I’m putting my faith in him to do the business again.
Hernandez to score first – 4/1
