Betting tips and match preview | Premier League
Everton welcome Manchester City to Goodison Park in another round of league fixtures, with the first of the Super Sunday fixtures.
Ronald Koeman’s side come into this match in mixed form, suffering a 2-1 defeat in their last match against Leicester City in the FA Cup.
Romelu Lukaku (63) opened the scoring again for Everton, with the Belgian in excellent form this season and a key man for the Toffees.
New signing Ahmed Musa came good with two goals in quick succession (66 and 71), to give Leicester a much needed away win.
Toffees In Need Of Run
That result is more evidence of the fact that Everton have been inconsistent, although they were unbeaten in their last three matches.
They are 7th place in the Premier League, with this recent run of form ending what was a very poor period for the Toffees.
They are behind City in the table, three places and twelve points below the Blues but Koeman will be confident of completing another win.
They drew 1-1 earlier in the season, City look to have turned the corner in recent games though.
Their mixed run of form means Everton come into this match as the underdogs, with home advantage not enough to win over the bookies.
This will be a tough fixture for Ronald Koeman’s side, with Man City coming into this match on the back of a great FA Cup win.
The Toffees will be looking to better their overall record against City, having won 59, drawn 43 and lost 63 in 165 meetings.
Blues Turned Corner
Guardiola’s side come into this match on the back of a 5-0 win, against West Ham in the FA Cup last weekend.
Yaya Toure (33) opened the scoring for City from the penalty spot, in what proved to be a questionable but match-turning decision.
From there West Ham completely crumbled, with Nordtveit turning the goal into his own net in the 41st minute, with David Silva making it 3-0 before the break (43).
Sergio Aguero got in on the act in the second half, with a 50th-minute goal, before John Stones made it 5-0 in the 84th minute.
Despite the controversy of recent weeks, Guardiola’s side appear to have rediscovered their early season form.
They have won five of their last six matches, with the 1-0 defeat at Anfield their only blemish and Guardiola will be hoping for better success on Merseyside.
Same Again For Pep
The match against Everton sees Manchester City emerge as favourites, despite drawing against the Toffees earlier in the season.
A win will keep the pressure on the sides above them, with Liverpool in a poor run of form and facing Manchester United later in the day.
Pep will be looking for City to continue their excellent recent record against Everton, with City unbeaten in their last three meetings.
Both teams are 8/13 on to score. The first goalscorer odds for Everton are Romelu Lukaku at 11/2 with Enner Valencia at 8/1. For Manchester City, Sergio Aguero is at 3/1 with Kelechi Iheanacho at 9/2.
The last time that these two sides met they drew 1-1 and the odds of the same result are 6/1.
