Derby will be preparing for the play-offs this weekend when they host Ipswich on Saturday afternoon. Ipswich are outsiders on their travels, priced at 100/30. Derby can be backed at the odds on priced of 17/20 to do the business on their home soil. The draw is available at 5/2. Derby have their play-off place set in stone for a couple of weeks now. They are also unbeaten in their last six games which is a good record to take into the play-offs. After their game against Brighton at the weekend, they will be fancying their chances for promotion. They have already proved that they can beat Hull and last time out they drew with Brighton. They were unfortunate not to seal the three points against Brighton. Weimann put Derby in front in the 71st minute. They held on to the lead until the 95th minute where Brighton pulled it level. They will be looking to continue these kinds of performances in to the play-offs.
Ipswich are set for another year in the Championship. They lost their form at the wrong time and slipped away from the play-off places. This form has been highlighted in recent weeks, winning just once in their last eight games. Their win came last weekend which would have been a sigh of relief. The win came against MK Dons. McGoldrick put Ipswich in front in the 16th minute, but the Dons pulled it level on the stroke of half time. Pitman regained the lead for Ipswich but the Dons against pulled it back level. It was not until the 90th minute that Ipswich took the lead for the final time through Varney. The game finished 3-2.
Derby are the stronger side of the two and they have a little more to play for this weekend in that they will want to keep their momentum going.
