Derby v Hull | Saturday 14 May | 12.30 kick off
The second game to be played in the Championship play-offs this weekend will see Hull make the trip to Derby on Saturday afternoon. The hosts Derby are favourites to get the all important win, priced at 8/5. Hull are a bit more of an outsider bet, they can be backed at 19/10. The draw is available at 2/1. Derby have come out on top in both fixtures this season, winning 2-0 and 4-0.
Having already got the double over Hull this season, Derby will be very confident going into the play-offs. Their 4-0 win against Hull came fairly recently, although Hull were in a bad spell of form. They will be disappointed to not be going into this game off the back of a win. They could not manage to Ipswich’s 34′ penalty on the last day of the season at the iPro Stadium. Nevertheless, they will be focussed on getting a good result on their home soil to take to the KC Stadium for the second round of fixtures.
Hull will know that Derby have been a bit of a bogey team for them this season. However, they will be looking to get revenge after the 4-0 defeat they embarrassingly suffered a few weeks ago. They will be going into the game fairly confident, given that they finished higher in the league. Also they managed an emphatic win last weekend against Rotherham – who have been in decent form. Snodgrass, Hernandez, Livermore and Diame all got on the scoresheet to give Hull the 5-1 win.
Both sides would ideally want to keep things tight in the first leg. However, given the firepower in both sides, I can see this game opening up as it progresses.
Derby to win and over 2.5 goals in the match – 4/1
