Betting tips and match preview | FA Cup

Chelsea welcome Peterborough to Stamford Bridge in the third round of the FA Cup, with the big boys now entering proceedings.

Chelsea come into this match on the back of a 2-0 defeat at the hands of London rivals Tottenham.

Two excellent headers from Dele Alli (45+1, 54), either side of the half-time interval sealed a deserved win for Spurs.

It ends a run of 13 successive wins for Chelsea, who have been incredible since the defeat against Arsenal.

Antonio Conte will be disappointed, with his side failing to really trouble a rampant Tottenham side.

Win Number Twelve

That result means that Chelsea now remain joint top of consecutive wins in the Premier League, level on 13 with Arsenal’s Invincibles.

They are still top of the league though, they are clear of rivals Liverpool by four points, with the Reds facing United in their next league match.

Without the pressure of European football, Chelsea will be looking to compete on all fronts domestically.

Blues Favourites

Chelsea unsurprisingly head into this fixture as the favourites, they are the form team in the Premier League.

They will be looking to go on a run in this competition, with a league and cup double the only options available for Conte now.

Antonio Conte’s men have never faced Peterborough in any competition, this is the first meeting between the two sides.

Three Stalemates

The Posh come into this match in good form, they are unbeaten in their last six but have drawn three successive games.

They drew their last match 1-1 with Sheffield United, with the Posh stealing a late equaliser at Brammal Lane.

Josh Morris (45+1) opened the scoring for the Blades in first half injury time, an excellent free kick for the promotion chasers.

Peterborough struck back though, with a Charlie Goode own goal (83) ensuring that it ended with honours even for both sides.

Posh Pushing For Promotion

Peterborough are enjoying a good season themselves, they find themselves in 8th, just one point off the play offs.

Wins against Notts County, Charlton and Chesterfield, have been followed by draws against Scunthorpe, Gillingham and Coventry.

They have won 10 of their 24 games, with six defeats and eight draws completing a mixed run of overall form for them.

Posh Underdogs

Peterborough come into this match as underdogs, with Chelsea’s pedigree, form and home advantage informing the bookies.

The Posh are plying their trade in League One, two below Chelsea who are the best side in the country at the moment.

This is the first meeting between the two sides in any fixture, Peterborough will be looking to complete the biggest shock of the round come Sunday.
