Charlton v Burnley | Saturday 7 May | 12.30 kick off
Table toppers Burnley look to seal their place at the top of the table this weekend when they make they come up against Charlton. They are odds on favourites to get the business done on their travels, priced at 1/2. Charlton are the outsider side of the weekend, they can be backed at 11/2 to put a dent in Burnley’s title ambitions. The draw is available at 16/5. In the reverse fixture back in December, Burnley eased past Charlton on their home soil winning 4-0.
This weekend will be the last game Charlton play in the Championship for at least another year. They have a big opportunity to give their fans something to cheer about with a home fixture against top of the table. Last time out they did give their fans something to be happy about, beating Leeds at Elland Road. Berg Gudmundsson put Charlton in front before the half time break and Lookman doubled their lead shortly after half time. Leeds pulled a goal back but it was not enough to trouble Charlton and the game finished 2-1. Charlton fans will be questioning where these performances have been all season. They have their work cut out for them to get a victory in this one.
Burnley have a great chance to seal the title this weekend. After securing promotion last weekend with Middlesbrough and Brighton dropping points. A fully deserving position considering the fact they have only lost one game since the turn of the year, and that was an FA Cup game against Premiership side Arsenal. If they continue this and do not lose on Saturday afternoon, they have a big chance to be crowned champions. They will be looking to win to seal the title. Last weekend they picked up all three points in a hard fought win against QPR. The only goal of the game came through Vokes just after the hour mark. Burnley will be fully focussed this weekend and not want to slip up with the title in their grasp.
All eyes will be on this game at the weekend to see who comes out on top. Burnley have the title in their grasp whilst Brighton and Middlesbrough will be fighting it out in the hope Charlton can get something from the game.
Vokes to score first – 4/1
