Cardiff v Birmingham | Saturday 7 May | 12.30 kick off
Birmingham make the trip to Wales on Saturday afternoon for their last game of the season for their fixture against Cardiff. The Brummies are outsiders to pick up the three points on their travels, priced at 13/5. Cardiff are favourites to do the job on their home soil and can be backed to do so at 21/10. The draw is available at 16/5. In the reverse fixture earlier this season it was Birmingham who came out on top, winning 1-0 at home.
Cardiff have missed their chance to play Premiership football next season. After being brushed aside by Sheffield Wednesday they find themselves too far off sixth place. Most disappointing for Cardiff is the fact they only managed two shots on target and were somewhat dominated in possession. Losing would have been bad enough, but the manner of the defeat would be most disappointing. Nevertheless, they have a chance to give their fans something to cheer about before they start next campaign.
Birmingham have not had great deal to cheer about in recent weeks, failing to win any of their last five fixtures. However, most recently their draw was fairly impressive. They went in front against Middlesbrough through Gleeson just after half an hour mark. They lost their lead as Middlesbrough put two past them either side of half time. Davis got Birmingham back on level terms in the 68th minute. This was a good point for the side, but having gone so long without a win they will want to give their fans something to cheer about before next campaign.
Neither side has anything to play for except pride. This could lead to a relatively stale affair or allow an open game of football.
Correct Score: 0-0 – 10/1
