Birmingham v Huddersfield, December 4, 3.00.pm
The home side, Birmingham, go in understandably as favourites into the game and can be backed at even money. The struggling visitors can be backed 11/5, as well as the draw.
Birmingham will have been disappointed not to see out the month of November unbeaten after losing out 2-1 away to Brighton. They would have known going into the fixture that it would have been tough, but would still be disappointed to leave empty handed. With another tough fixture against Middlesborough around the corner, the pressure is on Birmingham to pick up all three points this weekend. Even after a loss last weekend the side still find themselves in a play-off place, albeit on goal difference. Nevertheless they will be doing everything they can to retain this place over the next month and hopefully solidify this position.
Huddersfield were also left empty handed last weekend and find themselves in the dreaded bottom three. They would have liked a more straight forward fixture this weekend to help get some more points on the board, however are having to make the trip to Birmingham. They have only won three games this season and only one of which has came in an away fixture. They will probably play for a point this weekend with a home fixture against Bristol City which they will see as a better opportunity to pick up all three points.
However I think they will initially try parking the bus, but allowing Birmingham to have possession in front of them could be dangerous and I don’t think the home side will have too much trouble breaking them down.
